Miami Dolphins trade Jay Ajayi to Philadelphia Eagles
Who says the NFL doesn’t do blockbuster trades?
Hours after the New England Patriots sent Jimmy Garoppolo to the San Francisco 49ers, the Miami Dolphins just made the league-leading Philadelphia Eagles even better by sending running back Jay Ajayi to the City of Brotherly Love in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick.
Blockbuster: The #Dolphins are trading RB Jay Ajayi to the #Eagles.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) October 31, 2017
On the season, Ajayi has 465 yards on 138 carries. He has no touchdowns yet, but he’s coming off a Pro Bowl season in which he scored 8, and he’s also playing for a directionless Dolphins offense … until now.
Ajayi is signed through 2018 on a four-year, $2.5 million deal, a bargain for his production. He’ll provide an instant jolt to an offense that ranks fifth in the NFL in rushing offense at 129.3 yards per game, but only tied for 20th in rushing touchdowns with four.
The NFC’s frontrunner is going all-in. Your move, Dallas and Seattle.
