DJ Burns discusses defending Purdue basketball's Zach Edey in the Final Four

D.J. Burns is the trending star of the Final Four. The North Carolina State big man brings great footwork, clever passing and a fun vibe on the court. He's also 6-9 and listed at 275 pounds (though no one believes that weight).

But he has never come up against a foe like Purdue's Zach Edey, the 7-4, 300-pound senior and likely two-time national player of the year.

How does Burns plan on dealing with Edey in Saturday night's national semifinal game?

"I won't give that away, but we're coming with a game plan," Burns said Tuesday on the "Dan Patrick Show." "We've got some work coming here (to prepare) for it."

Where did Burns learn his spin moves?

"I used to watch a lot of Hakeem (Olajuwon) footwork (highlights) growing up," Burns said. "That was something my dad said would make me different. I went in and ran with it."

Will DJ Burns play in the NFL?

Burns' emergence has drawn comparisons to retired NBA player Zach Randolph and prompted reports that he could be an NFL offensive lineman. Burns said no one has suggested the NFL to him.

"I'd probably explore other options in basketball first before all of that," adding, "I'm not a close-minded person."
