Did Missouri football move in national polls after idle week? Here’s where Mizzou is ranked
Up in one, out of the other.
Missouri football climbed one spot in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll, which was released Sunday, and now checks in as the No. 22-ranked team in the country. Missouri did not play this week as it was on its second and final idle week of the season.
In the AP poll, which was released later Sunday, the Tigers dropped out of the rankings altogether and are now the first team out after taking the No. 25 ranking into their idle week. Louisville and Vanderbilt, which Missouri beat in Week 4, jumped ahead of Mizzou in the top 25, while Illinois dropped from one spot ahead of MU to receiving no votes.
That marks the first time Missouri has been unranked in the AP poll since the Week 7 rankings in the 2023 season.
In the coaches poll Mizzou (6-2, 2-2 SEC) jumped above Pittsburgh, which lost to SMU for its first defeat of the season.

Oregon was the near-unanimous No. 1 in both polls, as it received every first-place vote in the AP poll and only one voter in the coaches poll did not agree. In both sets of rankings, Georgia, Ohio State, Miami and Texas are Nos. 2-5, respectively.
In the SEC, Tennessee is ranked No. 6 by the coaches and No. 7 by the AP. Alabama is No. 11 in both sets of rankings; Ole Miss is No. 12/16; LSU is No. 13/14; Texas A&M is No. 16/15; and Vanderbilt is No. 25/24.
South Carolina, which Missouri play Nov. 16 on the road, is receiving votes in both polls after defeating Texas A&M on Saturday.
Mizzou will play Oklahoma next Saturday on Faurot Field, with kickoff tabbed for 6:45 p.m. and SEC Network set to air the game.
