Detroit Tigers vs. Cardinals postponed Monday due to forecast of rain; doubleheader Tuesday

The Detroit Tigers pulled the tarp on the field, didn't officially remove Andy Ibáñez from the injured list and declined to release their starting lineup, all precursors to postponing Monday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals at Comerica Park.

The Tigers decided to postpone Monday's game due to the forecast of inclement weather in Detroit, where it's supposed to rain into the evening. At the time of the postponement, roughly 4:50 p.m., there hadn't been any rain yet.

The Tigers and Cardinals will play a straight doubleheader Tuesday, beginning at 3:40 p.m. For the doubleheader, Game 2 will start approximately 40 minutes after the conclusion of Game 1. The Tigers could promote right-hander Matt Manning as the 27th man for the doubleheader, but the pitching plan hasn't been finalized.
