Detroit Tigers' Reese Olson leaves start after two innings with right shoulder soreness

TORONTO — Detroit Tigers right-hander Reese Olson didn't take the mound for the third inning Saturday.

The 24-year-old, who has a 3.23 ERA in 19 starts, exited his start against the Toronto Blue Jays with right shoulder soreness after two innings at Rogers Centre, throwing 30 pitches.

The severity of the shoulder injury is unknown.

Olson struggled to locate his pitches in the first and second innings against the Blue Jays, but he worked out of jams with a pair of inning-ending double plays. He owns a 3.23 ERA with 31 walks and 92 strikeouts across 103 innings in 19 starts.

The Tigers replaced Olson with right-handed reliever Alex Faedo for the third inning.
