The Detroit Tigers have Opening Day for the 2025 season scheduled for March 27 against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.

Before that, the Tigers will play 30 spring training games.

The 2025 Grapefruit League schedule begins Feb. 22 against the Philadelphia Phillies at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, Florida. The Tigers clash with the New York Yankees on Feb. 23 in Tampa for their first road game of the spring slate.

The Spring Breakout prospect game, expected to feature top prospect Max Clark for the second year in a row, is March 16 against the Atlanta Braves in North Port.

The Tigers have two split-squad days: Feb. 27 (Boston Red Sox in Lakeland, Tampa Bay Rays in Port Charlotte) and March 21 (Yankees in Lakeland, Baltimore Orioles in Sarasota).

Fifteen of the 30 spring training games will be played at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland. The spring training schedule concludes March 23 against the Phillies at BayCare Ballpark in Clearwater.

After that, the Tigers will travel to the San Francisco Bay Area for a pair of exhibitions March 24-25 against the San Francisco Giants, according to the San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser. The games will prepare the Tigers for Opening Day on March 27 against the Dodgers in Los Angeles

The Tigers begin the 2024 regular season on the West Coast against the Dodgers (March 27-29) and three games against the Seattle Mariners (March 31, April 1-2). The home opener is April 4 against the Chicago White Sox at Comerica Park.
