Delaware Hayes' Jake Lowman is OSU Wexner Medical Center Athlete of Week
In a vote that ended March 22, Dispatch.com readers selected the The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center high school Athlete of the Week for competitions that took place from before March 18.
This week's winner is Delaware Hayes basketball player Jake Lowman.
Lowman scored 18 points in a district final win over Walnut Ridge, 17 in a regional semifinal win over Hilliard Bradley and 12 in a regional final win over Olentangy Orange.
Lowman received 88% of the vote and was followed by the Olentangy Berlin athletic department, which received 8.6%, and Africentric basketball player Kamryn Grant (2.2%).
The Berlin athletic department was nominated for “the amazing work they have done to recover from the tornado last week and get the facilities back into functional shape for the spring sports season.“
Grant had 22 points and 11 rebounds in a 62-35 win over LaGrange Keystone in a state semifinal and 10 points in a 58-47 state championship win over Ottawa-Glandorf.
