Cucho Hernandez, Darlington Nagbe among five Crew players selected for MLS All-Star Game

The Crew will have five players in the MLS All-Star Game, which is set to take place at Lower.com Field on July 24. That ties the club record set in 1999 when Brian McBride, Thomas Dooley, Robert Warzycha, Stern John and Brian Maisonneuve made the squad.

This year, forwards Cucho Hernandez and Diego Rossi, midfielder Darlington Nagbe and defenders Rudy Camacho and Steven Moreira were named to the 30-player MLS roster, which will be coached by the Crew's Wilfried Nancy. The Crew are sending the most players, with Inter Miami close behind with four, including Lionel Messi.

Hernandez, Rossi, Camacho and Moreira were among Nancy's coach's selections, while Nagbe was one of Don Garber's two commissioner picks. None of Columbus' five players were among the 12 players voted onto the roster by fans.

"This is not easy because there are many, many good players," Nancy said before the roster was announced. "And to be fair to us, I should put many players of ours, because they did a good job last year and this year also regarding the competition that we've had. So, this is not an easy exercise, but I’m going to try to do it in an honest way."
