In contract year, DeAndre Hopkins 'happiest' in NFL career with Tennessee Titans

Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is in Year 12 of his NFL career, which has included stops in Houston and Arizona.

But Hopkins said Thursday that he is happiest in Nashville with the Titans as he plays this season on the final year of a two-year deal.

"I love Tennessee. I love what Miss Amy (Adams Strunk, the Titans owner) is doing," Hopkins said Thursday. "I think this is the happiest I've been in any organization, so I'll just let that speak for itself."

Hopkins, 32, had 1,057 receiving yards and seven touchdowns last season, his first 1,000-yard receiving season since 2020. And given the attention Hopkins got among a group of pass-catchers without another proven option, plus the changes at quarterback, it was a notable step up in production.

In 2024, Hopkins should have a lot more help. Free-agent additions Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd will help restore some balance to the Titans receivers room, and Will Levis heads into Year 2 as the unquestioned starting quarterback.

A strong 2024 season could boost Hopkins' market at his age, even with a potentially strong 2025 free agent class that could be headlined by Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb, 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk, Bengals receiver Tee Higgins, Texans receiver Stefon Diggs and Browns receiver Amari Cooper.
