Commanders-Bengals is first NFL game since 1940 with no turnovers, no punts
It won't be any consolation to Cincinnati Bengals fans after the team fell to 0-3 this season with a 38-33 loss to the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football at Paycor Stadium, but the two teams did manage to do something no NFL teams have done in a game in 84 years.
At the end of ESPN's broadcast of the game, the network confirmed that Monday night's game was the first NFL game since 1940 with no turnovers and no punts.
In a battle between former LSU quarterbacks who won Heisman Trophies, the Commanders' Jayden Daniels outdueled the Bengals' Joe Burrow. Burrow finished with more passing yards, but Daniels completed 21 of his 23 attempts and added 39 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground.
