The MLS regular season has around a month left of play left, but the Crew are packing in eight more matches in that time period.
With seven regular-season matches and the Campeones Cup still left on the schedule in the next 31 days, the Crew are getting started with another long and congested stretch with a matchup against Toronto FC on the road on Wednesday.
"We’re definitely aware of the schedule," Crew midfielder Max Arfsten said. "But we just have to take it game by game, that’s the only way to do it, and just stay in the present moment. And I think good things will happen if we approach it that way, and not worry about the amount of games in such a short period of time.”
Columbus has already faced Toronto this season, on July 6. At Lower.com Field, the Crew defeated Toronto 4-0 with all goals coming from different players, including team-leading scorers Cucho Hernandez and Diego Rossi.
