Clemson football's Peter Woods, Tyler Brown out vs NC State
(This story was updated to add new information.)
CLEMSON — Clemson football defensive lineman Peter Woods and wide receiver Tyler Brown are out for Saturday's game vs. NC State.
During warmups, Woods came out in sweats and did not stretch with his teammates. Brown, who had tape on his left ankle, didn't run routes with the other wide receivers during warmups and did not dress in uniform. Defensive lineman Cade Denhoff will start in place of Woods, and wide receiver Troy Stellato replaces Brown in the lineup.
Both players entered this Week 4 game as "day to day," according to Tigers coach Dabo Swinney. Both suffered injuries against Appalachian State in Week 2. Woods got injured on a chop block, and Brown rolled his ankle.
Through two games, Woods has recorded six tackles, including two for loss and one sack. Brown, who attended Greenville Senior High School in Greenville, has four catches for 23 yards in two games.
Other Tiger players out vs. the Wolfpack are cornerback Corian Gipson and offensive linemen Collin Sadler and Dietrick Pennington. Offensive lineman Marcus Tate, who missed Week 2's game vs. App State, is active Saturday.
No. 19 Clemson (1-1) faces the Wolfpack (2-1) on Saturday (noon ET, ABC) at Memorial Stadium.
