CLEMSON — Clemson football looks to win its third straight game this weekend.
The No. 15 Tigers (2-1, 1-0 ACC) face Stanford (2-1, 1-0) on Saturday (7 p.m. ET, ESPN) at Memorial Stadium. This will be the first regular season meeting between these two programs.
Here is what to know about the matchup:
Clemson football, Cade Klubnik dominant in first half
The Tigers won their past two games essentially after the first two quarters. They outscored their last two opponents — Appalachian State and NC State — 101-20 and outgained them 933-363 in the first half.
Clemson scored 45 or more points in the first half of consecutive games for the first time under coach Dabo Swinney. According to ESPN, it also became the first FBS team in the last 20 seasons to lead by 28 or more points after the first quarter of consecutive games.
After struggling against Georgia in Week 1, quarterback Cade Klubnik has elevated the offense. He has an 80% completion percentage with 587 yards passing and 11 touchdowns (three rushing) over his past two games when he only played in the first half against App State and two-and-a-half quarters vs. NC State. His decision-making, accuracy and playmaking have helped the Tigers rout teams early.
What to know about Stanford in first ACC season
Stanford lost 34-27 to TCU to open its season but won its next two games, defeating Cal Poly 41-7 at home and Syracuse 26-24 on the road last week.
The Cardinal are led by quarterback Ashton Daniels, who has 562 yards passing with four touchdowns and three interceptions and 163 yards rushing. His top passing target is 6-foot-2 wide receiver Elic Ayomanor, who leads Stanford with 234 receiving yards on 17 catches and has one touchdown.
Swinney said Daniels is one of the better athletic quarterbacks Clemson will face in 2024 and called Ayomanor a "superstar."
Defensively, the Cardinal have forced one turnover in each game. They have also held their opponents to under 30 rushing yards in their previous two games.

Dabo Swinney going for his 100th win at Memorial Stadium
If the Tigers defeat Stanford, Dabo Swinney would become the first coach in Clemson history to win 100 home games. The win would make the 16-year Tigers coach one of four active FBS coaches to win 100 home games, according to Stats Perform.
Clemson would also become the third team in the country to win 100 games against conference opponents (including postseason games) since 2011, joining Alabama and Ohio State.
Clemson's history vs Stanford
Clemson is 1-0 all-time against Stanford. The Tigers defeated the Cardinal 27-21 in their lone matchup in the 1986 Gator Bowl. Stanford was among three teams to join the ACC this year.
The Tigers are 7-9 all-time in their first ACC games vs. new conference teams. Still, they are 47-7 when facing a coach for the first time since 2011.
Clemson score prediction vs Stanford
Clemson 45, Stanford 21: The Tigers have found their offensive identity over their past two games and that has complemented their defense. Clemson has secured early leads in the first half to put the game out of reach, and it will repeat that success against the Cardinal to close its three-game homestand.
