Christian Moore hits for cycle in Tennessee baseball vs. FSU in College World Series
OMAHA, Neb. − Christian Moore hit for the cycle for Tennessee baseball in its College World Series opener against Florida State on Friday.
Moore completed the cycle with a 440-foot solo homer leading off the sixth inning, which pulled the Vols within 9-7 against the Seminoles.
The junior second baseman roped a triple to right-center field in the first inning. He crushed a double down the left-field line in the second. He blooped a single to shallow right in the fourth.
Moore is the second player in CWS history to hit for the cycle. Minnesota's Jerry Kindall had the other in the 1956 CWS against Ole Miss.

Christian Moore had the sixth cycle in Tennessee baseball history
Moore's cycle is the sixth in UT history. He is the first Vol to hit for the cycle since Zane Denton did so against Morehead State on March 10, 2023.
Trey Lipscomb also hit for the cycle in the Tony Vitello era. He hit the fourth in UT history on Feb. 25, 2022.
Chris Burke was the first player to hit for the cycle in program history. He did so against Vanderbilt on Feb. 11, 2001. Matt Duffy was the second. He hit for the cycle against New Orleans on March 9, 2011.
Rodgers' cycle was a natural cycle. He hit a single, double, triple and homer in order.
Christian Moore's homer was his 60th with the Vols
Moore's homer was the 60th of his Tennessee career and his 33th this season. Both are records.
The prior record for career homers was 40 and the single-season record was 24.
