Christian McCaffrey preparing to play in Week 2 vs. Vikings
Despite missing Monday's regular-season opener against the New York Jets with the same ankle/Achilles injury that ruled him out for most of training camp and the preseason, Christian McCaffrey is preparing to play in Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings.
On Wednesday, the All-Pro rusher spoke to members of the media in Santa Clara and was asked about his potential availability. McCaffrey revealed his mentality for Week 2 is that he's going to play.
My mentality is I'm playing this week. That's where I'm at. That's how I am every week. I'm not lying. I think as soon as a player says, maybe I'll play, maybe I won't. That's not a good mentality to go into a week with when you're kind of on the fence. So for me, I'm ready to go.
