Chris Johnson, former Titans star running back, named to Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame

Chris Johnson, one of the most exciting players in Tennessee Titans history, has earned his place in the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame.

Johnson will be inducted as part of the Class of 2024 on July 20 at the Omni Nashville Downtown. Johnson rushed for 7,965 yards in six seasons as a star running back with the Titans. It included his record-breaking 2009 season where he rushed for 2,006 yards and 14 touchdowns on the way to being named the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year and setting the NFL single-season record with 2,509 yards from scrimmage, a mark that still stands.

A former first-round pick out of East Carolina, Johnson was a three-time Pro Bowler with the Titans. He rushed for more than 1,000 yards in all six of his seasons with the Titans, and surpassed 1,400 scrimmage yards in all six seasons as well. He's one of just 11 players in NFL history to post six-straight seasons with 1,400 or more scrimmage yards.

After leaving the Titans in 2013, Johnson played one season with the New York Jets and three with the Arizona Cardinals before retiring after the 2017 season.
