Chris Boswell carries Steelers to huge win over Ravens
Go ahead and announce Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. On a day when the Steelers offense sputtered, Boswell carried the scoring going six-for-six on his field goals to beat the Baltimore Ravens 18-16.
The win was the first division win of the season for the Steelers and the team improved to 8-2 on the season. This is especially important given quarterback Russell Wilson had a dreadful outing and was pulled in the vital closing moments in favor of Justin Fields. Fields athleticism helped close things out when Wilson could not.
On defense, the Steelers continue to have Lamar Jackson's number. Jackson only threw for 206 yards and rushed for 46 more. Pittsburgh also kept the league's leading rusher, Derrick Henry bottled up. Henry finished with only 65 yards rushing and was a non-factor for much of the game.
The Steelers now have to turn around on a short week and take on the Cleveland Browns on Thursday night on the road.
