A possible hip-drop tackle was the subject of much drama surrounding the Cincinnati Bengals over the last week.

That was the reason for Ja'Marr Chase's Week 2 outburst against an official that resulted in a massive fine letter from the NFL.

And the NFL did fine a Chiefs player for a hip-drop tackle during that game -- but it was Nick Bolton for a tackle on Erick All, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

So, in addition to the big fine from the NFL, the league has also effectively said that the tackle Chase suffered in Week 2 wasn't a hip-drop variety now banned, either.

Notably, the fined hip-drop tackles from last week weren't flagged, so the lack of a flag doesn't necessarily mean it isn't happening in real-time, though.

Either way, the league says Chase didn't suffer one last week.
