As expected, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase was hit with a huge fine from the NFL due to his altercation with an official in Week 2 that led to an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Chase received a $$31,599 fine letter from the NFL.

Chase took issue with what he perceived as a now-banned hip-drop tackle from a Kansas City Chiefs defender during the Week 2 loss.

The verbal altercation went on for an extended amount of time, resulting in a costly penalty and Joe Burrow getting involved in pushing Chase away from the situation.

After the game and since, Chase has refused questions on the topic. The official involved released a statement, though, as did the NFL's referee association.
