What channel is LSU vs Nicholls on today? Time, TV schedule for Week 2 game

For the third time in as many years, LSU football opened its season with a deflating neutral-site loss, the most recent of which was a 27-20 setback against No. 14 USC in Las Vegas last Monday.

Thankfully for the Tigers, they have an excellent opportunity to bounce back.

Though it’s coming on incredibly short rest, just five days after its loss to the Trojans, coach Brian Kelly’s team will look to notch its first win of the 2024 season when it takes on Nicholls inside the hallowed walls of Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.

Though it fell to No. 19 in the US LBM Coaches Poll, LSU impressed in a number of areas in its first game of the season. Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier threw for 308 yards and two touchdowns. A deep group of receivers showed out, led by Kyren Lacy’s 94 yards and a touchdown. After a puzzlingly poor sophomore season, Harold Perkins had a team-high eight tackles while teammate Sai’vion Jones had two sacks. Despite fading in the final minutes, the Tigers’ defense as a whole showed signs of progress under first-year defensive coordinator Blake Baker.

LSU should have a more manageable time against Nicholls than it did against USC. The Colonels, who went 6-5 last season, dropped their season-opener last Saturday 25-17 against Louisiana Tech. It will be the Tigers’ first game against Nicholls, which is only about 60 miles from the school’s Baton Rouge campus. This weekend’s contest will be the Colonels’ fourth against an SEC school, a run that included narrow losses to Georgia in 2016 (26-24) and Texas A&M in 2017 (24-14).
