Champions League: VfB Stuttgart vs Atalanta – Probable line-ups and where to watch
Atalanta will look to capitalise on their recent strong form in Serie A when Bundesliga outfit VfB Stuttgart visit Bergamo in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.
La Dea have won five on the spin in the league, including thumping 5-1 and 6-1 victories over Genoa and Hellas Verona, plus a surprise 3-0 win away against the current leaders Napoli on Sunday.
Gian Piero Gasperini is not expected to make too many surprise alterations to his starting line-up for the visit from Stuttgart on Wednesday night. Mateo Retegui and Ademola Lookman, who scored a brace against Napoli, are expected to start in attack and could be joined by either Charles De Ketelaere or Mario Pasalic.
Davide Zappacosta has started each of La Dea’s Champions League matches thus far this season, and he will be joined by either Matteo Ruggeri or Raoul Bellanova on the other flank.
Stuttgart, meanwhile, have a couple of enforced changes to make. Jamie Lewelling, a usual starter on the wing, picked up a muscular injury over the weekend and is not available for the Atalanta game.
There could also be a change up front for Stuttgart, as former Atalanta striker El-Bilal Touré, who only left over the summer, could be handed an opportunity to start against his old club.
Kick-off is due at 20.00 GMT.
