Caitlin Clark of Indiana Fever breaks Alyssa Thomas' WNBA record for assists in a season
Caitlin Clark keeps rewriting the WNBA record books.
The Indiana Fever rookie notched her 317th assist of the season Friday night against the Las Vegas Aces, breaking Alyssa Thomas' league record. Thomas, of the Connecticut Sun, established that record last season, in which Courtney Vandersloot had 314.
The No. 1 overall draft pick had 312 assists entering Friday's game against the Las Vegas Aces.

Clark broke the rookie (Ticha Penicheiro had 225 in 1998) and franchise (Erica Wheeler had 201 in 2023) records earlier this year. She had a single-game record 19 assists July 17 vs. the Dallas Wings.
The Iowa graduate is almost certainly headed toward the Rookie of the Year award. She has been Rookie of the Month three times, and earlier this week earned her third straight Eastern Conference Player of the Week honor.
