Bucks' Patrick Beverley reveals he has torn ligament in his right wrist, injury could keep him out rest of season if he has surgery
Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley has a torn ligament in his right wrist and will need surgery to repair the injury, he announced on his podcast Wednesday.
The recovery timeline is three to four months following surgery, he said. Beverley didn't say whether that was the route he was taking but "in order to fix it" doctors have told him that's what he needs.
Surgery would keep him out the rest of the season. The playoffs begin in a few weeks and the last possible day of the NBA Finals is June 23.
However, a new Bucks injury report for Thursday night's game against the New Orleans Pelicans may indicate Beverley could try to play through it since he's listed as questionable and the team is labeling it as a wrist sprain.
Beverley said the injury happened before the Bucks game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday during warmups when he went up for a dunk.
Beverley still played 15 minutes off the bench in the Bucks' 118-93 victory over the Thunder and had four rebounds, four asissts and two blocks. The injury kept him out of the Bucks' double-overtime loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night.

Beverley said his spirits are up and that it doesn't feel as bad as when he once tore a ligament in his other hand.
The Bucks acquired Beverley, 35, from the Philadephia 76ers at the trade deadline last month and he has provided the team with defensive intensity, swagger and leadership off the bench.
Here's more on what to know about Patrick Beverley's injury.
Patrick Beverley injury: Can Pat Bev play with a torn ligament in his wrist?
Beverley revealed the severity of the injury on "The Pat Bev Podcast with Rone" Wednesday. "Unfortunate" is how he described the injury when asked by his co-host Adam Ferrone.
An X-ray on the wrist after the Bucks-Thunder game Sunday night showed a torn ligament, he said.
"Talked to the doctor and informed me I tore a ligament in my right wrist and I’m gonna need to get surgically repaired which takes three to four months (to recover)," Beverley said. "Cool little day."
That timeline would keep him out for the rest of the season if he has surgery.
Beverley was 0 for 2 from the field in Sunday’s game and said that on his only three-point attempt he felt "a little pain."
"God got me," Beverley said. "It's supposed to happen right before the playoffs. Makes the story even better. Make some magic (expletive) happen."
Bucks forward Khris Middleton did play through a torn ligament in his wrist toward the end of the 2022 season, though a knee injury eventually cut short his season in the playoffs. He had surgery on the wrist that offseason but missed the team's first 20 games of the 2022-23 season as he continued to recover.

Bucks depth chart after Patrick Beverley injury
The injury to Beverley is a blow to the Bucks depth at guard. He was a veteran presence off the bench behind Damian Lillard after the Bucks traded Cam Payne in the deal to acquire him. He brought an aggressive mindset on defense that the Bucks were missing for most of the season.
ANALYSIS: Why the acquisition of Patrick Beverley is a good fit for the Bucks
The injury will likely open up more minutes for sharpshooter AJ Green, though lineups typically get tighter during the playoffs.
