Milwaukee Bucks all-star Khris Middleton undergoes left wrist surgery
Milwaukee Bucks all-star Khris Middleton had a rough go of it physically in the 2021-22 season, as he missed 16 games in the regular season and then the final 10 games of the postseason with a sprained left knee.
He did not need surgery on his knee, but the Journal Sentinel confirmed Middleton did undergo surgery on his left wrist in July – but the belief is he will be ready to return to action around the start of the regular season.
The procedure was required due to a ligament tear.
Middleton missed four games at the end of the year for what was characterized as left wrist soreness on league injury reports, beginning on March 24 against Washington.
After missing the April 1 game against the Los Angeles Clippers he returned to play Dallas on April 3, and he grabbed his left wrist in obvious discomfort late in the first half against the Mavericks.
ESPN was the first to report the surgery.
Middleton made his third all-star team last season after averaging 20.1 points per game on 44.3% shooting overall and 37.3% three-point shooting. He also averaged 5.4 assists per game.
The Bucks will likely begin training camp in late September, as they will be headed to the United Arab Emirates for a pair of preseason games the first week of October.
