Bree Hall out for South Carolina, already minus Kamilla Cardoso in NCAA Tournament opener

COLUMBIA − South Carolina women's basketball junior guard Bree Hall will not play Friday against Presbyterian in the first round of the NCAA Tournament for precautionary reasons, according to the school.

With senior center Kamilla Cardoso serving a one-game suspension for her role in a fight against LSU, the No. 1 Gamecocks have just eight available players to open March Madness.

Hall came out in street clothes and did not warm up with the Gamecocks (32-0) ahead of their matchup with the No. 16 Blue Hose (21-14).

This will be the first game Hall has missed all season. She is averaging 9.7 points and 1.3 assists in 32 games this season, all starts.

South Carolina will tip off against Presbyterian at 2 p.m. at Colonial Life Arena. The Gamecocks beat the Blue Hose 99-29 in the regular season. Hall scored 10 points in the win.
