Braden Fiske has developed at an accelerated rate, establishing himself as a monster on the interior. Fiske has been a burgeoning talent since Week 1 and after recording two sacks against Seattle last week, offensive coordinators are going to design their protection plans around what Fiske has been able to do.

Fiske has dominated against guards, especially ones that get left alone in one-on-one situations. As a result, offenses may shift their line to get some help on Fiske, if not double-team him altogether.

When teams attack the interior defensive end with multiple blockers, the defensive tackle benefits due to his ability to use his size and power to bulldoze single blockers. As both Ndamukong Suh and Kobie Turner did with Aaron Donald, Fiske's emergence could create those beneficial matchups again.

When Donald was on the field, Turner was a monster in pass-rush situations, with Lions head coach Dan Campbell citing his abilities as a concern before last year's wild-card game. When asked about defending Turner and Donald, Campbell said this last January

“If you’re going to put your attention on 99, then we’ve got to win our one-on-one versus 91,” he said. "So, it’s challenging. (Turner’s) playing at a high level, he’s really coming on and he’s helping them because of that. And the minute you try to take care of him, then Aaron is by himself, and we know what he can do."

If Fiske can take up even half of the attention Donald did, Turner's production will go through the roof. Turner already has four sacks on the season and is on pace to equal his 2023 sack total. Fiske's growth may be the catalyst to grow that number into double digits.
