Bob Uecker's postgame champagne celebration is once again perfect

One of the more endearing traditions that the Milwaukee Brewers have cultivated when clinching a postseason berth is bringing in legendary radio broadcaster Bob Uecker to celebrate in the clubhouse. And once again, the 90-year-old was on hand for the festivities Wednesday night after the Brewers defeated the Phillies and laid claim to the National League Central.

"There is no one who epitomizes a champion the way this man does right here, there is no one out here," Brewers manager Pat Murphy said to the crowd inside Milwaukee's clubhouse. "What an example to be with us every single day. Bob Uecker!"

Uecker, with his characteristic humor, reacted to the dousing of champagne that followed with, "I peed my pants!"

The 90-year-old multi-hyphenate has been the radio voice of the organization since 1971. On Wednesday, he began the day in the broadcast booth but opened the door for all his partners to have a role on the broadcast, with Lane Grindle, Josh Maurer and Jeff Levering all getting a turn on the mic during the game.

He works a partial slate of home games now but remains the most recognizable figure in Milwaukee Brewers history, with statues both inside and outside the ballpark dedicated to his likeness.
