Bo Nix visits Neville Arena, meets with Auburn football QB signee Walker White

AUBURN — Former Auburn football quarterback Bo Nix seemingly still has love for the Tigers, and fans on the Plains very clearly still have love for him.

Early in the first half of Auburn basketball's 93-78 win over LSU on Saturday, the production crew in Neville Arena showed Nix on the video board. Nix, who was sitting in the stands, was greeted by a roar of applause, and he smiled and waved to acknowledge the cheer.

Nix spent three seasons at Auburn before transferring to Oregon and becoming a Heisman Trophy finalist in his second year with the Ducks. Nix completed 66.4% of his 1,936 career passes for 15,352 yards, 113 touchdowns and 26 interceptions. He also added another 1,613 yards and 38 scores on the ground.

The son of Pat Nix, also a former Auburn QB, is out of eligibility and figures to get a shot at the NFL next season.

Nix also paid a visit to four-star QB signee Walker White while he was in town. White committed to coach Hugh Freeze in February and signed in December: "Walker White, I think, is going to be a star," Freeze said Dec. 20. "I think he’s got all the attributes of what a quarterback should like. I think he’s a true Auburn man. Obviously, don’t know how quick he will adjust to this game. But I think he’s got all the skill sets to do that."

White and Nix have a previous relationship, with the younger QB leaning on the older one for advice.
