While you were sleeping: Ted Ligety becomes first American to win gold in men's giant slalom
While the United States slept, things were busy on the other side of the globe. Here is our recap of everything Olympics you may have missed overnight.
*U.S. Alpine superstar Ted Ligety became the first American skier to win a gold medal in men's giant slalom with a combined time of 2:45:29. He took a huge lead in the first run, speeding down the Rosa Khutor course in 1 minute, 21.08 seconds -- faster than everyone else by nearly a second. France's Steve Missillier and Alexis Pinturalut won silver and bronze.
Cue the "No Diggity" references:
I like the way you work it, Ted Ligety.

*Team USA's Bode Miller, who won the super-G bronze, said a knee injury may force him out of Saturday's slalom event, ending his Olympic run in Sochi.
*Austrian slalom skier Kathrin Zettel crashed into a gate -- and brought it with her down the course.
*The Sochi fog, delayer of many outdoor events this week, apparently cleared:
