This offseason we will count down various topics from Monday through Friday, bringing you the top five of the important and definitely some not so important issues in college football. It's the Doc Five, every week until we will thankfully have actual games to discuss.

REASONS JOHNNY MANZIEL WILL WIN A SECOND HEISMAN

NO. 3, HIS TEAMMATES

Johnny Manziel didn't win the Heisman Trophy by himself last year.

Texas A&M was far from a one-man show last year. The Aggies had a great offensive line, dynamic receivers and good running backs. Say what you will about former coach Mike Sherman, but he gave Kevin Sumlin a ton to work with in his first year as Aggies coach. Sherman has to wonder what might have been had his 2011 team not blown so many leads and he would have gotten just a little more time with the talented roster he built.

Sherman recruited well enough that even a few very important losses shouldn't be a crippling blow to the cast around Manziel as he tries to win another Heisman Trophy.

The three key pieces Texas A&M lost on offense are tackle Luke Joeckel, receiver Ryan Swope and running back Christine Michael, who were all drafted in April. Joeckel will be replaced at left tackle by another All-American, Jake Matthews, who moves from right to left tackle and will probably be a top 10 pick next year. The line should be fine, especially considering Cedric Ogbuehi, who played guard last year but is projected as Matthews' replacement at right tackle, is already being touted as a future star. Michael is a great athlete, but last year he had just 88 attempts for 417 yards. He was productive for all four years of his career, but the Aggies should be able to replace him too.

Swope might not be as easy to replace. He had 72 catches for 913 yards last season, with eight touchdowns. The year before, he had 89 catches, 1,207 yards and 12 touchdowns. He is a tremendous athlete who always seemed to get open for Manziel last year when needed. He had 11 catches against Alabama in the signature moment for Texas A&M and Manziel last season. Uzoma Nwachukwu and Kenric McNeal, who combined for 45 catches and nine touchdowns, have also run out of eligibility.

The good news is Mike Evans (82 catches, 1,105 yards and five touchdowns last season) is back. He's a huge, reliable target for Manziel. Others will have to emerge. LeKendrick Williams had a big spring game, Malcome Kennedy is coming off a decent sophomore season that included a touchdown against Alabama and the Aggies' recruiting class included five four-star players who can play receiver. Assuming someone on the roster is capable of getting open, Manziel should find them and turn them into Texas A&M's next receiving star.

Texas A&M, even with some losses, has the type of roster to be a contender in the SEC again, and a winning season is vital to Manziel's candidacy. He didn't win the award by himself last season, and he will have plenty of help as he tries to win it again.
