All-Big Ten transfer guard DeeDee Hagemann commits to Memphis women's basketball, Alex Simmons

Michigan State point guard DeeDee Hagemann has committed to Memphis women's basketball, she confirmed to The Commercial Appeal on Tuesday.

The 5-foot-7 Hagemann, who has one season of eligibility remaining, had previously committed to Ole Miss after entering the transfer portal. A second-team All-Big Ten selection last season, she led the Big Ten in assist to turnover ratio (2.84) in 2023-24. She averaged 12.3 points and 5.2 assists per game.

She'll be a significant boost for a Tigers team hoping to improve off last season's 13-17 record. Coach Alex Simmons has been busy in the transfer portal, bringing in Jackson State guard Tilly Boler, Vanderbilt forward Bailey Gilmore and Towson forward Quinzia Fulmore.

"DeeDee is a late addition to our team, but one that we are so excited to have," Simmons said in a press release. "One of our goals was to add depth at every position, and DeeDee brings high-level experience having played in the Big Ten and the NCAA Tournament."

Hagemann helped lead the Spartans to a 22-9 record last season. They fell to North Carolina in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
