Best and worst PFF grades from Panthers' Week 9 win over Saints
A few fan favorites were at the top of the class for the Carolina Panthers this week.
Here are the team's best (and worst) Pro Football Focus grades from yesterday's 23-22 victory over the New Orleans Saints:
Best of the offense
1. RB Chuba Hubbard: 81.52. TE Ja'Tavion Sanders: 78.93. QB Bryce Young: 77.84. TE Ian Thomas: 77.05. WR Jalen Coker: 70.4
Hubbard led the way with efficiency, rushing for 72 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries. Sanders also made the most out of his opportunities, reeling in four catches for a game- and career-high 87 receiving yards.
Young's 77.8 overall offensive grade is the third-highest of his career in a start.
Worst of the offense
14. WR David Moore: 57.315. RT Taylor Moton: 55.116. WR Jonathan Mingo: 53.117. RG Robert Hunt: 50.818. WR Deven Thompkins: 50.2
Moton's 55.1 mark is a season-low for the eighth-year hog molly. Although he allowed zero pressures of Young, he was saddled with a team-low 47.9 run-blocking grade.
Best of the defense
1. CB Dane Jackson: 81.22. CB Mike Jackson: 78.83. CB Jaycee Horn: 72.64. OLB Jadeveon Clowney: 70.35. DL Jonathan Harris: 69.4
Just like in Week 1, Horn was not targeted a single time by Saints quarterback Derek Carr.
Jackson (Mike), meanwhile, was thrown at four times. But he allowed only one reception for 10 yards and a passer rating of 39.6.
Worst of the defense
22. DL LaBryan Ray: 46.723. DL DeShawn Williams: 43.624. DL A'Shawn Robinson: 43.525. CB Caleb Farley: 42.826. DL Shy Tuttle: 42.8
Williams, Robinson and Tuttle were each charged with a missed tackle.
