Best and worst PFF grades from Panthers' Week 7 loss to Commanders

Sunday may have represented a new low for the 2024 Carolina Panthers. But a few players actually did come to play in the 40-7 loss to Washington Commanders.

Here are the team's best and worst Pro Football Focus grades from Week 7:

Best of the offense

1. C Brady Christensen: 85.22. TE Ja'Tavion Sanders: 82.53. LT Ikem Ekwonu: 80.44. RG Robert Hunt: 70.55. LG Damien Lewis: 69.8

For the second week in a row, four of the top five offensive grades belong to Carolina's hog mollies. Lewis led the pack in pass blocking (85.1), allowing zero pressures over 22 opportunities.

The rookie Sanders went for a career-high 61 receiving yards.

14. WR David Moore: 54.715. WR Diontae Johnson: 53.616. WR Xavier Legette: 51.817. QB Andy Dalton: 50.918. RT Yosh Nijman: 47.2

Dalton's 50.9 overall offensive grade was his worst in a start since Week 18 of the 2022 season, when the Panthers edged out his New Orleans Saints. He passed for a season-low 93 yards and two interceptions.

Nijman, in his second consecutive start in place of an injured Taylor Moton, was charged with two pressures and a sack and earned a team-low 38.9 run-blocking mark.

1. CB Jaycee Horn: 74.22. DT DeShawn Williams: 69.33. S Xavier Woods: 67.84. ILB Chandler Wooten: 67.65. S Lonnie Johnson Jr.: 66.0

Horn stacked with three stops and relinquished one catch for 25 yards over three targets. He finished with a 64.6 passer rating allowed.

With veteran Troy Hill released on Saturday, Smith-Wade saw his most action yet as the defense's primary slot corner. He was saddled with a 29.9 grade in coverage.
