'Best troll job': Diamondbacks praised for 2023 NL rings promotion vs. Phillies

Mark your calendars, Arizona Diamondbacks fans.

The defending National League champions are giving out NL Champions replica rings to the first 20,000 fans in attendance at the team's Aug. 10 game at Chase Field.

Sounds like an intriguing promotional giveaway for the team, and it gets even better when you see who Arizona is hosting in that game.

The Philadelphia Phillies.

You know, the team that the DBacks rallied to beat in seven games in the NLCS to win the NL pennant last season on their way to a World Series appearance.

Social media lauded the Diamondbacks for the timing of the giveaway after the announcement, which was part of the team's 2024 promotional schedule announcement on Sunday, with one person calling it the "best troll job by an MLB team so far this year."

Reaction: Diamondbacks to give away NL Champions replica rings at 2024 MLB game

The Diamondbacks have only won two NL Championships in their history, so you'll probably want to get there early for that game. Who knows when they could have a similar giveaway again?

Well played, DBacks. Well played.
