Exiting the Week 1 preseason loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Cincinnati Bengals now get back to the normal training camp routine.

Normal, as in upcoming joint practices and prepping for the second week of the preseason.

Before we really zoom in on that, though, let's take a look at some of the most notable winners and losers from Saturday night's game. It features not only Joe Burrow, but other big names and even some fringe players just hoping to make the roster or carve out roles for themselves.

While there is plenty of preseason left, the stock needle has moved for the following guys.

Winner: Joe Burrow and the offense

It doesn't get much better than that.

Burrow, just wanting to get something productive going in his likely only preseason action of the summer, waltzed down the field for a touchdown. He looked sharp throwing at all levels of the field and -- to his credit -- even pelted a ball into the turf before a free rusher could level him. All before an easy touchdown to Tee Higgins.

Loser: Zach Carter

Carter got the start next to second-rounder Kris Jenkins and struggled, especially on an early touchdown run for the Bucs. He feels firmly on the roster bubble at this point and needed a big night against backups to change that idea.

Winner: Josh Newton

The rookie defender who has used the camp to propel himself into a role avoided what looked like it could have been a rough injury, returned to the game, and picked off a pass.

It's just another sign that the TCU product will feature heavily in the base defense as early 2025.

Mix of both: Jermaine Burton

It might seem weird to list a guy who scored a touchdown as a loser or even a partial loser. But the hyped rookie couldn't get on the field until the third team went out there. It was so strange that it was worth wondering if he would see the field at all while coaches took it easy on the ankle he injured last week.

Instead, it's pretty clear he needs to earn his way up the depth chart. Even without Ja'Marr Chase active, he's not getting looks -- yet -- over the likes of Trenton Irwin.

Winner: Myles Murphy and Dax Hill

Let's lump the former first-rounders together. Hill looks every bit the part of a No. 2 cornerback, at least. He's super athletic and can match up with most guys in front of him. He should be the starter across from Cam Taylor-Britt.

As for Myles, his late rise last year apparently wasn't a fluke. He was super disruptive on Saturday night with several near-misses. They need him to play a key part in the rotation and he looks both bigger and perhaps more effective than those flashes last year.
