The Cincinnati Bengals activated veteran offensive tackle Trent Brown on Sunday, clearing the way for his competition at right tackle with first-round rookie Amarius Mims.

Brown went on the Active/Non-Football Injury list as training camp started. He also missed voluntary workouts earlier in the summer.

After signing with the Bengals in free agency, Brown projected as the starter at right tackle after the team lost Jonah Williams on the open market.

And while Brown has had mixed attendance at best so far, there's no reason to think the veteran can't still win that starting job in front of Joe Burrow.

That said, Mims has been on fire during training camp and making full use of those reps with the first-team offense. After the scare that was Mims leaving practice on a cart, he's impressed Joe Burrow and the coaches. Plus, he's got NFL experts noticing his strong camp, too.

Now that Brown has passed his physical, how the first-team reps get split -- if at all -- will be something to watching moving during training camp.
