Baylor wears Ja 1 shoes in Memphis for March Madness game vs Colgate
It wouldn't be a proper March Madness in Memphis without players sporting Ja Morant's signature sneaker. Several Baylor basketball players wore custom Ja 1's with Baylor's colors during the Bears' first-round NCAA Tournament game against Colgate on Friday.
RayJ Dennis and Jayden Nunn are a couple Bears players wearing the Ja 1s with a yellow base and white Nike swoosh. They also have the Baylor "BU" logo on the heel.
Along with Baylor, LSU and Duke's men's teams also have team-specific colorways for the Ja 1s.
Morant announced on Christmas Day in 2022 his own signature with sneaker giant Nike and has since released several colorways, including the "Day One", "Chinese New Year", "Scratch", "Midnight" and others.
The Grizzlies star guard appeared in just nine games for the Memphis Grizzlies this season after missing the first 25 games due to a suspension following a second video of him apparently brandishing a gun. It was the second of such video to surface on social media in about three months.
After returning from his suspension, Morant suffered a right shoulder injury, which required season-ending surgery.
