'Back to Champaign': Dunlap football recruit announces visit to Illinois this weekend

Mack Sutter is planning a trip to Champaign.

The four-star Dunlap tight end, part of the Class of 2026, announced on social media Wednesday morning that he'll be in attendance for the Illinois vs. Central Michigan game on Saturday morning. The Fighting Illini are among Sutter's 12 finalists.

"Back in Champaign this weekend!" Sutter posted on X.com.

Sutter made an unofficial campus visit to Ohio State last Saturday. Reports had him heading to Illinois for the upset over Kansas, but a change in family travel plans put him at the Horseshoe in Columbus, Ohio.

The 6-foot-6, 225-pound junior has 198 receiving yards and a touchdown off 11 receptions, plus a defensive score in two games. Dunlap (2-0), ranked No. 1 in the Journal Star area, opens Mid-Illini Conference play by hosting Pekin (1-1) at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
