Harris started his day as the first participant on the bench press and did a team-high 34 reps. Entering Friday's workouts, his goal was to hit 30 after doing 27 during the NFL combine last month.
“I did not think I could get hit 34, my goal was 30,” Harris said. “During the combine I hit 27 and felt like I could do more so that’s why I wanted to reach 30.”

Harris added that he got a lot of positive feedback from the scouts in attendance and felt good about his workout as a whole on Friday.
“I think I did good. I got a lot of good feedback,” Harris said. “This is the last step we got. We finished the combine and senior bowl, so it was good to be here with my teammates today.”
NFL Draft process
Harris is expected to be selected in the first four rounds of the NFL Draft. Listed at 6-foot-3, 295 pounds, Harris has met with every NFL team and plans on watching the draft with his family in a home setting.
“I plan on being in Montgomery or Atlanta for the draft,” Harris said. “The draft process overall has been going well for me. I have spoken to every team and I don’t know which one likes me the most right now.”
“It means the most to be going through this process, especially being close to home in Montgomery. It still does not feel real to this day and I think when I get drafted it will. I can’t wait for that day.”
Montgomery Roots
Harris attended Park Crossing high school before graduating in 2019. In his senior season, he finished with 51 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and seven sacks for the Thunderbirds. Harris committed to Kansas before transferring to Auburn in 2021. Harris sent a message to his high school alma mater letting the students and athletes know they can accomplish anything they put their mind to.
”Keep going you can do anything you put your mind to,” Harris said. “To get here all it takes is hard work and keeping God first in your life.”
The Next Generation
Despite Harris moving on to the NFL, his little brother will be suiting up for the Tigers this fall. Four-star defensive lineman Malik Blocton is an early enrollee for Auburn and has been learning from his older brother since settling on campus.
Blocton finished his senior season with 115 tackles, 15 sacks and 31 tackles for loss for Pike Road last year. With his expectations higher than most freshman, Harris says he’s been doing well so far from what he’s observed.
“He is going through spring ball now so I have been to a few of their practices,” Harris said. “I try to coach him up and after practice we will watch film and I’ll teach him how to break it down. He has been doing pretty good so far though.”
The 2024 NFL draft is will take place April 25-27 in Campus Marius Park and Hart Plaza in Detroit, Michigan.
