AUBURN — Auburn football landed a defensive commitment from Elijah Melendez, who flipped from the University of Miami.

After two trips to the plains on the season opener and Saturday evening against New Mexico, the four-star prospect reopened his commitment and pledged to the Tigers.
The 6-foot-1.5, 224-pound linebacker is ranked in the 247Sports Composite as the No. 147 player, No. 17 linebacker and No. 23 player from Florida.
Melendez becomes commitment No. 24 for the Tigers. Auburn jumps to No. 4 in the 247Sports team recruiting rankings, trailing Ohio State, Alabama and LSU. At the linebacker spot, Melendez joins JJ Faulk and also Bryce Deas.
