Auburn football DE Keldric Faulk says he 'will be fine,' shakes off second-half injury

ATHENS, Ga. — Auburn football sophomore defensive end Keldric Faulk was injured twice in Saturday's game at No. 5 Georgia, but it isn't anything to be worried about.

He was able to walk off the field the first time on his own terms, and though he had a helping hand to get off the field the second time, he didn't go to the medical tent at all.

"I feel good right now," Faulk said after the game. "It's part of the game, you know. I prepare for that. It was nothing major, I'll be fine."

Faulk ended the night with seven solo tackles and two sacks.

"I had confidence coming into the game," he said. "Getting those two sacks was expected. It was a goal I had set before the game. I was just doing what I was supposed to do. I'm not going to go and do stuff we're not supposed to do. I go out there and I try to make plays."

Our report card for the Tigers: Does Auburn football get a passing grade for Georgia loss?

"I can't say enough about Keldric Faulk and the leader that he is, the young man he is," coach Hugh Freeze said. "He's everything you want in an Auburn football player, in an Auburn man, and man, he just lays it all on the line like Jarquez (Hunter) does. He needs an off week, he ... is beat up for sure having to play a ton of snaps, and hopefully he can get healed up and have an outstanding second half (of the season). His leadership is vital to our team."
