Auburn football on Saturday looked be well on its way to its first statement win of the season.
But a fourth-quarter collapse vs. No. 18 Oklahoma kept Hugh Freeze and the Tigers out of the win column yet again.
In his first game back after being benched, quarterback Payton Thorne threw an interception while driving on offense late in the fourth quarter while up 21-16. Sooners linebacker Kip Lewis returned Thorne's interception 66 yards for a touchdown, giving No. 21 Oklahoma a lead in what was eventually a come-from-behind, 27-21 road victory on Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

To make matters worse for Auburn, Hugh Freeze's squad was better than Oklahoma in virtually every statistical category, including total yards, as the Tigers had 482 total yards of offense compared to the Sooners 291. Thorne's interception was the lone turnover of the game.
With the loss, Auburn has dropped its first two games in SEC play and moved to 2-3 on the season.
Here's how Auburn and the college football world at large reacted to the Tigers' Saturday loss to Oklahoma, which came after the Tigers led 21-10 in the early part of the fourth quarter:
College football reacts to Auburn losing to Oklahoma:
Auburn was well in control of this football game, until it wasn't.
With no faith in his QB, Hugh Freeze called a handoff for no gain at Oklahoma's 40 on 3rd and 9. Punted, leading to a TD.
Then on the next third down, Payton Thorne throws a pick-six.
