AUBURN — Payton Thorne is expected to start at quarterback for Auburn football against No. 21 Oklahoma. Redshirt freshman Hank Brown got the start in the Tigers last two games after Thorne was benched in Week 2.
Auburn coach Hugh Freeze pulled Brown at halftime of the Arkansas game. Brown finished his afternoon completing 7 of his 13 passes with three interceptions. Payton Thorne finished with 213 passing yards and two touchdowns after taking over in the second half.

Thorne, a team captain, produced nearly 6,500 yards and 49 touchdowns over 29 appearances at Michigan State. In his first season with the Tigers last year, he totaled 1,755 passing yards with 16 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. In 2024, Thorne currently sits at seven touchdowns and five interceptions.
Kickoff between the Tigers and Sooners is set for Saturday at Jordan Hare-Stadium and can be watched live at 2:30 p.m. on ABC/SEC Network+.
