The Athletic: Diamondbacks should consider upgrading bullpen at deadline
Jim Bowden writes: "Like the Giants, the Diamondbacks have a strong trio of starting pitchers on the IL — Zac Gallen, Eduardo Rodriguez and Merrill Kelly — and they’re hoping all three are ready to return by the end of July if all goes well. In the meantime, they’re looking to add a reliever as well as some starting pitching depth at the deadline. They are open to bringing in another bat, too."

USA TODAY Sports: Diamondbacks could listen to offers for Eugenio Suarez
Bob Nightengale wrote: "The Diamondbacks are willing to listen to offers for struggling third baseman Eugenio Suarez, who could soon lose his everyday job. Suarez has a $15 million club option the D-backs don’t intend to exercise."

Fansided: Braves should trade for DBacks' Jake McCarthy
Zach Pressnell wrote: "The Braves need help in the outfielder quite desperately. McCarthy would provide them with a young, controllable outfielder. Trading for him would be a low-risk move because he's more than a rental. If he doesn't work to lead them to a World Series this year, they will have him next year and the year after as well. He'll have plenty of time to provide value to Atlanta. And they would steal him from the Phillies before they are able to pounce on the opportunity."
Sports Illustrated: DBacks' Christian Walker intriguing target for Cubs
Evan Massey wrote: "At 33 years old, Walker has just one year left on his contract. He will become a free agent at the end of the season. That also helps drive down his trade value. Giving up Triantos and Birdsell would be worth the price for the Cubs to acquire Walker. If they think they can compete with a couple of moves, they should go for it. There is no question that the roster is loaded with talent."

ESPN: Diamondbacks a 'hinge team' at 2024 MLB trade deadline
Jeff Passan wrote: "Two months into the season, the defending National League champions haven’t found their footing, and with a franchise-record $163 million Opening Day payroll, other teams are keeping an eye on the Diamondbacks, thinking owner Ken Kendrick could pursue a reduction. The possibilities Arizona presents are impressive."
Clutch Points: Can Diamondbacks get something for Eugenio Suarez?
Dan Fappiano wrote: "With no plans of keeping him beyond the 2024 season, the Diamondbacks will at least see what they could get in a trade for Suarez. Perhaps a team out there believes his power will come back with a change of scenery. In that case, Arizona may receive a lottery ticket prospect in return. At 30-35, the Diamondbacks are still trying to climb their way back into the playoff race. Eugenio Suarez might be helping the case for now, but he isn't long for Arizona."

Burn City Sports: Trading Jake McCarthy would be mistake for Diamondbacks
Michael McDermott wrote: "The Diamondbacks certainly will have find the ideal role for McCarthy, but his bat is too valuable for the team right now to pursue a trade. While he may lack the defensive or power ceiling that Thomas can provide, at the same time with an inconsistent offense it would be a massive mistake to remove a productive hitter who can reach base at the rate McCarthy does and impact the game as a baserunner."
Yardbarker: Diamondbacks could be sellers at 2024 MLB trade deadline
Nick Ziegler wrote: "While it is only June, the Diamondbacks appear closer to being a seller than a buyer at this point. If that does end up being the case, they have a lot of players that would garner attention at the trade deadline. Two of their best players, Christian Walker and Paul Sewald, are set to be free agents at the end of the season. Naturally, that makes them players that could likely be acquired if the Diamondbacks decide to sell. They also have some players with options like Joc Pederson who would be one of the best outfielders available."

Sports Illustrated: Yankees trade for DBacks' Paul Sewald makes sense
Patrick McAvoy wrote: "The Yankees haven't won a World Series title since 2009, but this season could be it if they can continue to play at the level they. Plus, an addition or two around the trade deadline certainly wouldn't hurt as well. New York doesn't need to make any massive changes, but adding more depth to the bullpen should be a priority and one player who could make sense is Arizona Diamondbacks closer Paul Sewald."
Clutch Points: Jake McCarthy would be great fit with Phillies
Owen Crisafulli wrote: "It's not that McCarthy is a bad player, but rather one who is solid but unspectacular, which is a pretty accurate description of his numbers so far this season (.268 BA, 2 HR, 13 RBI, 9 SB, .724 OPS). McCarthy won't post extremely gaudy numbers, but he's a pretty good player in every aspect of the game, which makes him a solid depth outfielder for a contending team like the Phillies. While Philadelphia does have depth in their outfield, adding a more consistent option like McCarthy could help them greatly. Johan Rojas hasn't offered much as the team's center fielder (.234 BA, 2 HR, 19 RBI, .572 OPS), and with Brandon Marsh on the injured list, the team has been forced to turn to Whit Merrfield, Cristian Pache, and David Dahl in left field in his absence."

Fansided: DBacks trade Christian Walker to Houston Astros in hypothetical trade
Zach Pressnell wrote: "The Astros need to take a chance before their season wastes away right in front of their eyes. Walker is the ideal replacement for them at first base. Not only is it a huge upgrade, but it would wipe the taste out of their mouth of the failure of a Jose Abreu experiment."

Bleacher Report: Could Diamondbacks trade Jordan Montgomery before deadline?
Kerry Miller wrote: "Like Snell, Montgomery waited a long time before signing a one-year deal with a player option for a second, and the return on that investment has not been great for the NL West team that was hoping to remain without shouting distance of the Dodgers with this acquisition. At least Monty hasn't been as disappointing as Snell and isn't currently injured, but he has posted a 6.80 ERA in his nine starts. If he can turn things around this summer but the Diamondbacks continue to struggle, he might get traded ahead of the deadline for a third consecutive year."
Burn City Sports: Luis Robert Jr. could be attractive trade candidate for Diamondbacks
Jacob Hardin wrote: "With a record of 30-33 in a highly competitive NL Wild Card race, the Diamondbacks could certainly use another power bat in their lineup. Power has recently been a significant area of interest for their front office. After embracing chaos in 2023 and using their speed to get around the bases and throw opposing pitchers off guard, Arizona acquired Eugenio Suarez and Joc Pederson in free agency—two players not known for their speed on the bases. Making Robert an even more attractive name on the market is the fact that whichever team signs him will have control of him through 2027. He is currently on a six-year, $50 million contract, with most of the contract’s payout scheduled for the final two years."

Sportskeeda: Potential landing spots for Diamondbacks' Joc Pederson before 2024 MLB trade deadline
Zachary Roberts wrote: "The Arizona Diamondbacks have come all the way back down to earth, but Joc Pederson has been good. Following a surprise run to the World Series, Arizona has been disappointing in 2024. It may have to consider trading off veterans who aren't part of the future. That includes Joc Pederson, who is one of the few players performing. He has an excellent 156 wRC+ and despite being a DH is worth 1.2fWAR so far. Most teams could benefit from his services, but especially these few."
Sports Illustrated: What to expect from Diamondbacks at 2024 MLB trade deadline
Jack Sommers wrote: "From a Diamondbacks perspective, it would be wise not to expect too much movement until much closer to the deadline. Mike Hazen has expressed many times his belief that it takes until the last week before asking prices become crystallized . That's been born out by his trade deadline behavior where the vast majority of the team's moves have occurred over the final few days. This year the D-backs are likely to remain in that last minute mode with Hazen standing at the switch, deciding which way to go."

Fansided: Hypothetical Diamondbacks trade has Jordan Montgomery going to Cardinals
Zach Pressnell wrote: "The Cardinals would be better with Jordan Montgomery back in St. Louis. While he hasn't been the best pitcher in 2024, his talent is still there. When he turns the corner and pitches like the World Series winner from last year, the Cardinals will be very thankful they made this deal happen."
Sportskeeda.com: 3 possible landing spots for Christian Walker at MLB trade deadline
Lyndon Suvanto wrote: "After reaching the World Series last year, the Arizona Diamondbacks have struggled to repeat the success that brought them to the title series. The DBacks currently sit worth in the National League West with a 31-35 record, which has some believing that expiring veterans such as Christian Walker could be on the move this summer."

Seattle Sports: Could Mariners have a reunion with Paul Sewald?
Brent Stecker wrote: "While offense continues to be the biggest need for Seattle, the Mariners could still use some help in the bullpen with Matt Brash out for the season following Tommy John surgery, valuable left-hander Gabe Speier now on the 15-day injured list with a rotator cuff strain, and offseason acquisition Gregory Santos not expected back until July from a season-long lat issue. Adding Sewald to a group of late-inning options for the stretch run that also includes closer Andrés Muñoz and veteran Ryne Stanek, though, looks pretty enticing."
TWSN: Diamondbacks need to trade for Luis Robert Jr.
Blake Flynn wrote: Currently at 30-34 and fourth in the division, it hasn’t been the year the defending National League champs would’ve wanted. In a loaded NL West, one if not two teams after the Dodgers look like they could represent a wild card spot come postseason. They currently sit fourth in the division behind the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants. The downfall of Corbin Carroll is a mystery as the reigning NL Rookie of the Year is batting .198 with only two homers, 20 RBIs, and 31 runs. What helped put this Diamondbacks team over the top in the playoffs last season was their hitting, and they need another bat. Robert would be able to take the everyday center field spot from Carroll and maybe allow him to find comfort back in a corner spot where he’s produced better from the plate."
Brewer Fanatic: Keep eye on Diamondbacks, Jordan Montgomery
Brock Beauchamp wrote: "Montgomery's 2024 salary is $25 million. He has multiple vesting options alongside his player option for 2025: at ten starts in 2024 he vests $20 million in 2025; at 18 starts in 2024 he vests $22.5 million in 2025; at 23 starts he vests $25 million in 2025. It's easy to see a situation where this scares a non-competitive Diamondbacks team. It also could present an opportunity for the Brewers to buy low on a player at a position of dire need for them in 2024."
