Is Alabama football LT Kadyn Proctor playing vs Wisconsin?
MADISON, Wisc. − Alabama football sophomore left tackle Kadyn Proctor will make his season debut on Saturday prior to a road game at Wisconsin, coach Kalen DeBoer confirmed to Crimson Tide Sports Radio. Proctor worked with the first team in pre-game warmups, and Elijah Pritchett warmed up at right tackle.
Proctor injured his left shoulder during pre-game warmups prior to Alabama's season-opening game against Western Kentucky on Aug. 31, and was replaced in the starting lineup by Pritchett. Proctor was also sidelined for the Crimson Tide's Week 2 home game against South Florida last weekend, and the UA coaching staff went with a different starting lineup along the offensive line, with standout guard Tyler Booker playing Proctor's left tackle position.
The UA offensive line struggled against the Bulls, primarily due to inconsistent pass protection and penalties. More than half of the 13 flags thrown against the Crimson Tide penalized the OL, making Proctor's return to the left tackle position a welcome sight for UA offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic.
Proctor's return against the Badgers marks the third different starting offensive line for Alabama in three games.
Alabama football OL Kadyn Proctor's journey
Proctor played left tackle for the Crimson Tide as a true freshman last year, with mixed results, before transferring to Iowa for the spring after former UA coach Nick Saban retired in January. Proctor re-entered the NCAA transfer portal in April to return to Alabama, and won the starting left tackle job in fall camp after missing Alabama spring practice.
