Alabama football has landed a commitment in five-star class of 2025 running back Akylin Dear, Dear told On3 on Tuesday.

Dear had originally been committed to Ole Miss since March but decommitted from the Rebels in June. He becomes the 20th overall commitment in Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide's 2025 class, which ranked second nationally per 247Sports Composite prior to Dear's commitment. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound running back becomes the second running back in coach Kalen DeBoer and Alabama's 2025 cycle alongside Anthony Rogers.

The 247Sports Composite lists the Quitman, Mississippi native as the third-ranked prospect in Mississippi and the second-ranked running back in the 2025 class. Nationally, he ranks 31st amongst the 2025 class.

Dear completed his junior year at Quitman High School rushing for 2,016 yards and 27 scores along with three passing touchdowns.

Dear took his official visit to the Capstone over the weekend of June 14. Freddie Roach and Robert Gillespie are listed as his primary recruiters.
