Alabama football, Kalen DeBoer land Ty Haywood, second-ranked OT in 2025 recruiting class

Alabama football landed a commitment in five-star Ty Haywood, the second-ranked offensive tackle in the 2025 recruiting class, Haywood told On3 on Sunday.

The Denton, Texas native out of Ryan High School is tabbed as the second-ranked offensive tackle in the 2025 class and the fourth-ranked player in Texas per the 247Sports Composite. He ranks 11th nationally amongst the 2025 class.

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound prospect becomes the fourth offensive tackle commitment for Alabama in the 2025 cycle and the fifth offensive lineman commitment in the class, joining Micah DeBose, Mal Waldrep, Jackson Lloyd and Michael Carroll. Overall, he is the 22nd commitment in the Crimson Tide's 2025 class, which ranked No. 2 in the nation per 247Sports Composite prior to Haywood's commitment. He is the second five-star commitment for the Crimson Tide on the weekend, following wide receiver Caleb Cunningham’s commitment on Saturday.

Haywood picked Alabama over 33 total offers, including those from Florida State, Georgia and Oklahoma.

Haywood took his official visit to the Capstone on May 31. Alabama football offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic is listed as his primary recruiter.
