Alabama football coach Kalen DeBoer updates Kadyn Proctor injury status

Consider Alabama sophomore offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor questionable for the Crimson Tide's game against South Florida this Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Proctor injured his left shoulder during pre-game warmups ahead of UA's season-opening win over Western Kentucky on Saturday and did not play.

On Monday, Alabama football coach Kalen DeBoer called the injury "manageable," but was non-committal on whether he'll be able to play against the Bulls.

"Kadyn's got a shoulder situation there. It's one we will be able to manage, so that's a positive. As the week goes, it's something we can continue to evaluate and be hopeful for," DeBoer said.

Proctor came out for warmups in full uniform before the WKU game, but after going to the locker room with trainers shortly thereafter, he returned to the field to watch from the sideline out of uniform with his left arm, under a shirt, appearing to be in a sling. He won the starting job at left tackle in fall camp after missing spring practice due to a temporary transfer to Iowa.

Elijah Pritchett, who had been expected to rotate at right tackle with Wilkin Formby, started the game against the Hilltoppers at left tackle in Proctor's stead. DeBoer said Pritchett played well considering most of his practice reps on the left side came in spring practice rather than fall camp.

The SEC has begun requiring coaches to make public injury reports this season, although the mandate only applies to games featuring two SEC teams.
