Aidan Morris set to be paid farewell in upcoming Columbus Crew match at Lower.com Field
The Crew will honor Aidan Morris on Saturday at Lower.com Field in what will be his final game before his signing with Middlesbrough FC is official.
Columbus' match against Sporting Kansas City will serve as a farewell for Morris, with the club expected to hold a postgame ceremony for the 22-year-old.
Fans via social media have also started organizing their own way to honor Morris and are planning to sing a chant the fan base has created for Morris in the eighth minute of the match, which coincides with his No. 8 jersey number.

The signing with Middlesbrough, an English Football League Championship club, is expected to be announced by the club at some point next week. Though Morris is unable to play for Middlesbrough until the MLS transfer window opens on July 18, the midfielder will no longer play for Columbus.
Morris is one of Coumbus' longest-tenured players. He made his professional debut with the club in 2020, but had been a part of the academy system since 2017. During his four MLS seasons playing for the Crew, Morris recorded six goals and 15 assists, and also helped the club win two MLS Cups, the 2020 and 2023 titles.
