Chambost will fill one of Columbus' two open international roster spots and will be available to play for the Crew once the secondary transfer window opens on July 18.

"Dylan (Chambost) is an experienced and versatile player who possesses technical and tactical abilities that will suit our style of play," said Crew general manager Issa Tall. "We are pleased to add a player of his caliber and skillset, which matches the specific profile we identified with (Crew coach) Wilfried Nancy for our roster."

Chambost started his professional career with the French-based Troyes, playing four seasons with the team before returning to AS Saint-Etienne, the club he spent his youth career with. In his two seasons playing for Saint-Etienne's first team, Chambost recorded nine goals in 61 appearances.

An attacking midfielder, Chambost played what is expected to be his final game with Saint-Etienne on June 3, with his contract set to expire on June 30.

This is the Crew's first player addition since the MLS regular season began in February.
